If you served on a committee in 2025 and would like to serve again next year, please complete this form. If you are with a multi-facility member, please discuss with your colleagues who will represent your facility before making a commitment. Completed forms are due by November 21, 2025.

  • Select a Committee(s)

  • Plans the agenda, content location and combination of services to be provided at each convention and trade show. Recommends fees and policies, solicits new vendors, and performs an annual critique. Evaluates the needs of Associate Members, exhibitors, and attendees making relevant recommendations to the Board of Directors.
  • Assesses the training and educational needs of the membership. Plans and executes workshops to meet the needs.
  • Reviews rules and regulations of the Health Department regarding health planning issues. Offers recommendations concerning the State Medical Facilities Plan and Certificate of Public Need regulations. Meetings for the Health Planning Committee are scheduled on an as needed basis.
  • Updates the application forms, arranges and conducts personal interviews with eligible candidates statewide, evaluates academic interest dedication to the residents of VHCA member facilities, and financial need. Assists in raising funds for scholarships. Meets to review individual candidates and determine the scholarship award recipients.
  • Monitors issues relative to payment rates, regulations and other financial issues for all payors of long term care services in Virginia. Makes appropriate recommendations involving Medicaid payment policies of the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS).
  • Formerly the Quality of Care and Regulatory Committees, this committee focuses on quality improvement trends and initiatives, monitors state agency regulatory activity, and recommends any needed changes.
  • Addresses issues and trends relevant to assisted living facilities in Virginia. Develops strategies to expand services to meet the unique needs of assisted living facilities members. Monitors legislation impacting assisted living facilities and suggests appropriate educational program material.
